 went yesterday to ring (with Yosef, Rafi & Avner) mainly Desert finches in Beit Shean Valley.There were hundreds of finches, gathering on the fence along 2 ponds. It was a great site, though we caught and ringed only about 20 finches. Its a great bird which we need to continue and study its moulting pattern. In addition to the finches all of the other "Valley" birds such as Black kites, ospreys, red footed falcons, black storks etc.

Yesterday i joined Yosef Kiat for ringing yellow wagtails at the alfalfa fields in Zora'a valley. We didnt catch too many, though nice migrant birds around. The best ones were a couple of common Cuckoos and some Red footed falcons flying above the field.  Common Cuckoo  Red Footed Falcon  An amazing day was in the migration survey which take place along Eastern Israel, mainly over the rift valley area. About 30,000! Honey Buzzards were seen in 1 day. Now its definitely the time to look up to the sky and look for all the raptor's flocks out there.
