At Mid May i guided a 2 day birding tour at some sites such as- Beit shean valley, the carmel coast and jerusalem. On those dates of mid - end of may most of the migrants have allready left, though there are still some left and some of the nesting species, of course, are still noticeable.
I guided Rachel- an enthusiastic birder from the states. Although she didnt know much of the European and israelis birds, she shortly learned all that needed to be learned.
We had some nice Black francolin, rollers and bee eaters at Beit shean valley, some nice spur winged lapwings and black winged stils chiks at Maagan Michael and a few warblers at jerusalem. We also went to see a colony of lesser kestrels not far from Maagan Michael. All in all , nice birds for those dates.
