Went a few days ago to do some birding up north in the Golan area (Northern Israel). The weather and company were great, though didnt see the target species i wanted to see. Never the less, some nice birds around. 
Attached are: a  singing corn bunting and a rock bunting that were observed.

Winter is one of the best seasons to bird in the Negev for Unique Raptors such as Imperial Eagle and Lanner Falcon.  among them i saw also lot's of Sky larks, pipits, and hundreds of Pin Tailed Sandgrouses flying around. Attached are 2 pics taken by Ron Haran, of the eagle and Lanner.

A couple of days ago a birdwatcher found a beautiful male Bearded Reedling in a park near Beer- sheva (southern israel).
What an amazing bird it is. well done for the discovery. Many birders went to see that amazing bird which was last seen in Israel in 1995.

Despite the security situation here in Israel, i am still going birding. October is a very good season for all kind of Birds including rarities. 
While birding in the Judean desert i saw a sleepy Egyptian Nightjar (one of  a few) .What an Incredible bird.

Although the summer is coming, spring migration is still evident. Many song birds and raptors passing Israel nowdays.

We are having a difficult time here in Israel, but the birds are continuing with their own routine. Spring is in it's pick and many migrant birds are around.
​Attached is a short video of a Nubian Nightjar a few minutes after it was being ringed. This beautifull bird is nesting around the Arava valley and the dead sea area and is hard to watch as it is only being seen in a few specific sites. Enjoy. 

As fall migration starts to kick in, spent a bit of time down south in the Negev. It is still hot in the Negev area which leads many birds for a morning drink . 2 beautifull Black bellied Sandgrouses were among the many species who came to drink.

The beautifull Western Rock Nuthatch , a breeding bird in Mt Hermon area.

Mt. Hermon is known for his unique species , some of them Breeds there. The syrian serin is one of them....
